Nothing says Texas like brisket, that flavorful cut of beef with just the right blend of fat. Fresh cut and smoked to perfection, it’s a specialty at the 16 Smokey Mo’s restaurants throughout central Texas.
To celebrate the joy of brisket indulgence, Smokey Mo’s is waging a Battle of the Brisket at seven of its locations: Evans Crossing, Military Crossing, Shaenfield, and Stone Oak in San Antonio – along with Boerne, New Braunfels, and Spring Branch.
The contest was announced through SA Live, San Antonio’s daily variety and feature show from KSAT 12. The show’s premier foodie David Elder served up a full profile of Smokey Mo’s just a few months ago.
The Battle of the Brisket kicked off November 14 – and will blast on each day through December 15, between 2 pm and 4 pm.
Contestants will have 45 minutes to finish the entire trimmed brisket – five pounds worth! — and can tote home any uneaten portions. For full contest rules, click here.
Winners will enjoy bragging rights for the rest of their lives! Plus a keepsake photo in a Winner’s Frame and a Smokey Mo’s BBQ Gift Basket, stuffed with assorted goodies and a $100 Smokey Mo’s BBQ Gift Card.
